That's an inevitability regardless of how good the game is. It does not always make financial sense to scale up server infrastructure at launch when most of the player base will bleed away within weeks.
We can always hope the experience will be improved this time around, however unlikely. The company also ran a unique promotion that promised fans access to an exclusive beta if they got a Diablo IV-themed tattoo to celebrate the game's upcoming debut.

Diablo 4 was originally announced at BlizzCon 2019.Blizzard co-founder Allen Adham. Earlier in 2022, over 40 minutes of Diablo IV gameplay leaked online, revealing several of the game's integral mechanics, such as vendors, skill trees and the character creator.
